Stop Sign Graffiti route

It’s true that the Melissa and Doug toys have gone down in quality over the years. The wood puzzles are now pressed wood, the colors are no longer painted completely on the pieces (only the top of the puzzle piece is painted), and the colors chip off much easier. However, the puzzles are still great for the kids, and the toy is more durable than any of those silly cardboard puzzles on the market. Recommended.
How can I convince my wife to be a better parent?
She has a 19 year old son from a previous marriage. His father is no longer in the picture and as a stepdad I’m limited as to how much I can do with him.The only way I can describe her parenting is reverse positive reinforcement. Bad behavior is rewarded and good behavior receives nothing. He tells her he uses drugs and there is negative reinforcement of any kind- she’s worried if she threatens Stop Sign Graffiti to kick him out of the house, or stops buying him things that he won’t tell her what he’s doing anymore. He got evicted from an apartment my wife co-signed for after only 10 weeks and completely destroyed the place and spray painted graffiti all over the walls of 2 rooms and a door. The he quit his job and moved back in with us. Her response was to buy him a new skateboard and take him to the supermarket to pick out his favorite junk foods which she bought for him, then takes him to a festival. We spent the last four days cleaning up the mess at his apartment and packing/unpacking/cleaning all of his stuff while he laid on the couch and watched television. She doesn’t see a problem with that. How can I fix this before it ruins my marriage? I am about ready to give up on it here, but we have a new daughter and if I move out my wife will get custody and raise her the same way…

I had an electronic “stop light” that I used in the garage but the sensor kept changing its distance settings on its own so I had to continually reset it. Eventually it borke.
I decided to go low-tech this time. For $15 bucks, I got a simple system to help prevent my wife from driving through the family room wall. It works as advertised.
All is good with the world.

Arrived timely and in condition advertised. Would definitely buy from this seller again and the product really does work and is a lifesaver!

A gentle bump or push or even a substantial one on the Park’N Place does not initiate the light. Seems one must shake it fairly vigorously before the light works. However if you simply look for movement of the stop sign it works adequately. The manufacturer needs to work on the sensitively of the light actuator. On the positive side, delivery time was good.

The Park’N Place parking stop light is cute and very functional. Other
tenants of this underground parking area by various owners have commented on it and asked where to get one for themselves because they do not want to run into the concrete wall in front of their cars when parking. When I come close to the sign, I slow down and nudge the sign as it blinks continuously until I come to a rest and it has a chance to stop blinking.
I find it entertaining and very useful for its purpose.

My daughter received this puzzle for her first birthday. Although she gravitates toward animals, she still finds this puzzle interesting. The painted pictures underneath that correlate with the vehicle is helpful in putting the pieces back. The big chunky knobs make the pieces easy to hold. The knobs are screwed on from the back securely. My daughter’s favorite hobby is banging the pieces together! The puzzle is holding up well. The wood is a little soft and shows indentations from possible “hits.” However, I have not seen any teeth marks on them from teething…

Large handled 3 piece first puzzle made of wood and non-lead paint is a typical Melissas &
Doug toy. Has that extra “something” that intrigues little ones, is sturdy, and is appropriate for span of several months. Gripping the large nobs, comparing outlines of the 3 different cars (truck, car, police car), removing and later replacing the pieces for hand/eye coordination, and identifying primary colors makes this a multidimensional toy for little ones. Familiar red stop sign background provides a connection with the outside world. Excellent toy for guided interaction with parent or older sibling as little one is introduced to it.

I have purchased Melissa and Doug items for 5 years now. The puzzles that I purchased for my daughter 3 or 4 years ago were actually solid wood. I just went to the closet and looked at them and the backs of both the puzzles and the puzzle pieces are wood. I purchased this one and several others for my 1 year old son. Several layers of these puzzles are now mdf – fiberboard including the back layer of both the puzzle and the individual puzzle pieces. Only the core appears to be wood. If a baby puts this in his or her mouth, as most 1 year olds do, the fiber will swell or deteriorate. You can no longer wipe the surface with a damp washcloth as you could with a wood puzzle or the puzzle piece will be damaged. I am very disappointed with Melissa and Doug. I wonder how many of their other products are no longer solid wood.

This puzzle was so much nicer than I expected! I had seen other brands of peg puzzles and was expecting this to be similar. The puzzle is large, beautifully painted and has large, sturdy knobs that are just the right size for little hands.
