This book is so inspiring, and filled with amazing stories, and artists showing all forms of the art of graffiti. It is informative on the use of stencils and other mediums artists used to get the effects they did for their work. It is a great book to have if you LOVE graffiti..
some interesting things about/from the 1940s? or 20s and 30s?
my semester final for creative writing is an assignment centered around a decade of our choice. we have to write a short story about that decade (i.e: a person, an invention, an event, etc.), present it to the class (act it out, use a storyboard, photographs or drawings, props, et al), wear a costume depicting the decade, and bring in a piece of music to share with the class. I’m Graffiti Stencil Art Bansky thinking I want to write about the 1940s (though I’m okay with the 20s and 30s, too), but the only really interesting thing I can think of to write about is Nazi medical experiments, and somehow I don’t think that’s gonna fly. so I’m wondering if anyone knows of some little-known events or people or movements or art forms or whatever that occurred in the 1920s-40s and would be interesting to write about. preferably not something that everyone knows a lot about already (i.e: women’s suffrage, the Great Depression, flappers). I’m really involved in drama and I kind of mess around with artsy stuff (set design, costuming, stencil and freehand graffiti, photography, doodling. I’m also an avid bedazzler.) so maybe something that has to do with the theater or art…? I’m kind of interested in everything though, so that isn’t terribly important… any help is appreciated!
