I’ve just recently become interested in cooking, recipes, and books on the subject, so I was happy when a friend recommended me ‘A Homemade Life.’ Personally, I loved reading the family stories and memories that went along with each of the recipes, especially the recipes from her Dad like the potato salad with ranch dressing. If you are looking purely for a recipe book (like Barefoot Contessa’s or other recipe books) than this is not for you! You probably won’t keep this book in your kitchen cabinet next to Julia’s, but again, it is fun to read about how food shaped the author’s relationships and made her into who she is today. Overall- great read and a few recipes I’m dying to try.

Are these good christmas presents!? HELP please.?
My boyfriend and I have been together for 18 months – year and a half.I know you shouldn’t give to receive and Christmas isn’t about gifts, etc, etc, but he is going all out this year which puts pressure on me. I’ve had a stressful Homemade Graffiti Caps time making lists upon lists to try and figure out what to buy for him this year! Anyway, that’s not the point as I have come to a conclusion and bought him the following:- t-shirt- hoodie- hat- Graffiti supplies as he loves doing graffiti- DVD – Mug with chocolates- DVD- Photo Frame- Beer I have about £10 – £15 left to get him a few other bits and bobs, plus I am making him some homemade peanut butter cookies on Christmas Eve and wrapping them up and putting them in his box <3Is this enough? I'm really stressing about it :|? xxxTHANKS (:x
