Beneficial guidepost for How To Draw Graffiti Alphabet

In this art technique book, John Lee introduces his own self-taught drawing style influenced by today’s teenage urbanite. Starting with simple shapes and stick figures and working his way up to figure drawing, coloring and details, Lee also walks readers through the creation of every teen stereotype you can name, and shows off some graffiti-style designs. Though I don’t encourage spray painting public property, it would’ve been sweet if Lee were to tell readers more of how this particular style is made.
This book is unrated but contains no offensive content.

These are the ones who would shoot or kill someone at random to prove how violent they are. Hands, head cut off, abduction, torture, execution, house burnt down etc. Gangs in almost every secondary school Harrison College gang meets in Queens Park, including some former students. Graffiti on walls tell stories about crimes (e.g. Nickname of gang member X, picture of a gun with bullets coming out of the nozzle and name of other person Y means that gang member X shot Y) Some locations with Graffiti are initiation spots Gangs have certain hand signals and postures which are recognisable only to gang membersBP – Hmm gang banging…….i seeeeeeee :p

I’m not sure how this book could even be labeled graffiti anything. There is nothing graffiti about it. This is a book on how to draw cartoon characters, period. I have been a graffiti artist for over 15 years and the characters in this book aren’t even remotely close to being graffiti characters. I bought this book for a nephew of mine who has always been into my graffiti work and I thought he would enjoy it. But, it’s a HUGE disappointment.

I have no idea why this book is called graffiti style. It has almost NOTHING to do with graffiti. It is just a how-to-draw cartoons book LABELED graffiti style (not graffiti characters, just regular cartoons!). Seriously a pitiful book. Do not buy this book if you are looking for a graffiti book. This is a complete waste of time. As soon as I received the book and took a quick glance at it, I laughed and resealed it back into the box immediately for return. If you bought this book, return it!! Just look how many new&used versions of this book there are. That should give you a good idea of how many people DON’T like this book.

It’s a how-to draw cartoon characters book with some attempt at a “street smartness” that could well appeal to children. Badly mistitled and misrepresented book.

Great book, an interactive, inspiring, fun and funky way to learn how to draw characters in this form. Easy to read & understand, gives detailed explanations on how to draw different parts and has clear diagrams to accompany. Great for all ages, not only the younger generations… Highly recommend.
